I choose my home...

Dear Blog Friends... This week I am blogging a few days later than I used to do , but better late than never and besides, now I can add some more days to this weeks creative events... This monday I almost jumped on a plane to South America but after giving it a bit of a thought I chose to stay home... I started traveling when I was 5 years old and I never stopped until a few years ago and being married to a pilot you can imagine that this is what we do in our family , we fly... This time I chose my home and all the happiness that it gives me ... Why travel when all you need is home? It has also become an enviromental reason for me , I mean I want to think and say that I am an ecofashion designer and there is a lot in that word ...Not only to create things in a sustainable way but to also try to live your life in a climate friendly way... And is there a better thing than to wake up at home and look at the view of fresh flowers and all the things that you love surrounding you... family , friends and of course my work that is a passion...

So on monday instead of going to the airport I went to my shop and redecorated the window display , and I only left the red tulpis from last weeks valentines ... The rest is gone and now a new display has decorated my shop this week. I focused on purple and nude and was very happy with the result...
I also managed to finish some silk satin bags for my hand knitted creations...
I decided very early this week that I would try to focus on my ceramics and my ceramics only and yesterday it was time to open the ceramic oven and see the results of one weeks work. The new production took place in my shop and now the Spring feeling is a fact with new pots, cups and sallad bowls decorated with lovely birds and flowers...

I love the combination of these birds with the roses and flowers... I hope that they will give joy to the daily life of my customers... I pictured in my head a few months ago how I wanted that this new collection of ceramics would look like and I think that the result is even better than I imagined... When I work at my studio at home it is so comfy to know that I can take a timeout and take care of my latest passion... My flowers... and this week has also been a week for cultivating some tomatoes and chili peppers... Last summer we got our own cherry tomatoes , chili and lovely artichokes... They all tasted better than store-bought veggies, I promise!!

The nature has such a wonderful , positive effect on us . Who said that leaves falling from a tree are dead ? Have you seen them on a windy day? Nature is beautiful even when it is dead. For me it is essential in my work to have nature near me and when you cultivate it is almost like the same happiness that comes when you create a new design for a skirt , ceramic or whatever it may be... To see that something that you can enjoy eating with your loved ones comes out of a little seed that you planted months ago and gave love to is what a creative life is about... In one word , Love. Finally some pictures from the ceramic studio on fridays... Fridays are starting to become the day when creative customers and friends share creativity ,shopping , laughs , interesting conversations and maybe a glass of wine or two... I have to say that this friday I felt a little proud of myself , In my mind I thinkt that I have created a space for joyful encounters in the stressing pulse of the City of Stockholm... It is Sunday but I am already longing for next friday at Grevgatan 48 and you are all invited...

I wish you all a happy Sunday and a great week ! With Love / Andrea Labbé
